Search Engine Promotion

By Frank Palani Madan

Search engine promotion is the most effective way to advertise your business online. You can reach millions of paying customers by being popular with a few major search engines. The key to effective search engine promotion is to use the tools and techniques that work.

There are some things to think about when creating the content for your web pages. You want others to be able to find you easily in the search engines for the keywords related to the products you sell. To do that proper search engine promotion is the key. Below are some tips that will help you with this. An important part of a search engine marketing campaign is the content of your web site, and the keywords in that content. It's all about content and keywords. The right content with the right keywords can reward you with a steady flow of traffic which will bring in steady sales.

When writing the content for your site, you should consider keywords that customers would type into the search engines to find your products. These are the terms that are most relevant to the products you sell. They can include your business name, products name, or a combination of both. Once you have established the keywords your content will contain, it's time to work them into you content. Do not over use them or place them where they don't belong. Remember, you want the content to be natural. Keywords are short phrases or even just one word that describes the theme of a piece of content such as an article on a webpage or blog post. Search engines send out 'spiders' that 'crawl' thru content of webpages. Keywords are words or phrases that users search for.

Keyword placement on your pages is an important consideration. When you choose keywords, you will usually come up with a primary keyword phrase, then one or more secondary phrases for each page. The primary phrase will be the phrase used most often on the page and that is most relevant to the content topic. You should place it in the first line of the a few paragraphs on the page or article you write, then a few more times throughout the article. You don't want to over use it. The secondary phrases should be placed throughout the body of the article. Be sure the keywords sound natural in the content.

Generally, a keyword with 10,000 searches per month is going to be one that you can compete for getting to the top of a search engine . Instead of spinning your wheels marketing for those who are searching for a one word that gets 15 million searches per month, create multiple campaigns that market to more targeted keyword phrases.

Generally I like to have my articles to have at least 350 words of content in them with the upper limit hovering around 500. For a 350 word article you can expect to use your keyword phrase about 4 times maxim where a 500 word article you can use the keyword a couple more times to squeeze the keyword phrase in without setting of the keyword spamming alarms off.

There are many search engine promotion opportunities available to you and the list keeps growing. Stay up-to-date on the latest trends. Look for tips that will help you get more pages on top of the search engines.

By Anand Maheshwari

There are various types of web hosting options among which the Shared and Managed web site hosting are quite popular. Here is a brief account on both types so that the website owners can select the one suiting your needs.

On Internet most of the websites are hosted in shared servers which mean the same server is hosting the sites of several companies. The files of more than three or four websites containing their images, audio, and codes etc are saved on the server. Hence shared web site hosting can be defined as providing a server that hosts multiple websites. It is very popular in the world of web site hosting because the cost involved is very low. And the server is also very dedicated which normally functions smoothly without causing any hindrances. For small and medium businesses "Shared Web Hosting" is sufficient and probably the best option available. The results revealed by the recent surveys gave shown that 70% of the clients in the business world choose the shared web hosting.

Though shared website hosting is a sot effective option but it can sometimes cause noticeable problems. The security of the Web site can be a major concern as all the services and ports are exposed in one server. The Hacking Community can be a threat for these websites that are on shared web site hosting because attack on a single service such as SQL infection can break down the security of your website as they are based on the same platform. Another commonly noticed problem is slow loading of the website as it is a part of "Multiple Hosting Service" that may run at a same time.

Managed Website Hosting can be defined as a type of website hosting which is secured, updated and controlled according to the load balancing of a Web Site. It is mainly used for web servers that need to stay online 24/7. It comes with security patches. Managed web hosting is the best choice for anything but gaming and personal web servers. On a single server, the cost difference between managed and shared web site hosting is very small for business organizations. But on a large server cluster, shared website hosting is more cost effective. But other than that managed web hosting is always more reliable. The Web Sites load very quickly which brings satisfaction for the clients. The security measures are also very good in managed web site hosting as it runs on a single server. Most big companies go for managed web hosting as it provides them with speed, reliability and hacking free environment wherein all the data stored are secured and the load balancing is also very effective. Big companies prefer this kind of website hosting even if the cost is little high.

Before choosing between "Shared Web Hosting" and "Managed Website Hosting" it is always advisable to understand the need or purpose of the website. Before opting for any of these two services, you should compare both of them according to your needs and then find out if it is meeting your requirements or not. Your researches into the matter will surely pay off and you will end up choosing the right web hosting for yourself.
